The free scan is provided as-is

The scan at readablebyai.com is a free tool. It is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranty of any kind — no guarantee that a scan will complete, that a score is accurate for your situation, or that the tool will be available at any given moment. We built it to be useful and we stand behind the methodology, but we make no promises about uptime, accuracy for your specific case, or fitness for a particular purpose.

You must own or be authorized to test and monitor the domain

By submitting a domain to be scanned, you represent that you own it or are otherwise authorized to test it. By configuring a hosted drain, you also represent that you are authorized to stream the selected Vercel project's logs and to send the minimized events to the PostHog project token you provide. Don't probe or stream data for a domain, Vercel project, or PostHog project you do not have the right to administer.

Prohibited use

You may not use this site to send an abnormal volume of scan or drain requests, circumvent rate limits or authentication, submit fabricated log batches, use another party's credentials or destination without authorization, scrape or systematically harvest the site's output, or otherwise degrade the service. We reserve the right to block traffic we reasonably believe is abusive.

Scan results are measurements, not advice

A scan result is a point-in-time measurement of what our probes observed on a domain's publicly accessible homepage and robots.txt at the moment we fetched them. It is not legal advice, security advice, SEO advice, or a guarantee about how any AI system will treat that domain in the future. Sites change, AI systems change, and a probe from our servers is not the same as a request from a verified crawler — see the Corrections & Measurement Policy for the specific limits of what an outside probe can and can't prove. Don't treat a score as a certification of anything.

The hosted crawler relay is a beta, customer-directed service

You choose the Vercel source, PostHog destination, region, retention settings, and who can access the resulting events. You are responsible for configuring those services lawfully, safeguarding the endpoint and drain secret, and confirming that the data flow fits your privacy notices, contracts, and internal policies. The free tier also contributes the domain-level fields described in the Data Contribution Terms, which are incorporated into these Terms. ReadableByAI filters and relays events but does not promise complete delivery, vendor attribution, uptime, or preservation. A "verified" network match does not prove indexing, training, citation, or any other downstream vendor action.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReadableByAI and Alex Bouchard are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on a scan result, published finding, or fix suggestion. Use of this site is at your own risk.

Ownership

The content of this site — including the copy, the published ReadableByAI Index, and the case files — is the work of Alex Bouchard. The scanning engine underneath the free tool is open source under the MIT License at github.com/abouchard11/geo-crawl-audit and is governed by that license, separately from these Terms. You're free to clone, run, and modify the open-source engine under the terms of its own license; these Terms govern your use of this website and hosted service, not the standalone repository.

Monitoring subscriptions

Paid monitoring is a monthly subscription, billed in advance through Stripe, for one domain per subscription. It re-runs the free scan on a schedule (weekly, first run within 24 hours of checkout), keeps the results, and emails you the evidence: a short digest each week and an alert when a crawler that was reachable becomes blocked on a clean baseline. Reports are plain text sent from an address on this domain and contain no marketing.

It is a measurement service, not a guarantee. Synthetic probes from a datacenter are leads, not proof of vendor-crawler identity; 5xx responses and timeouts are reported as inconclusive rather than as findings; and nothing here promises that any AI system will fetch, cite, or rank your site. You must own or be authorized to monitor the domain, and we may pause or cancel (with a pro-rated refund of any unused full months) a subscription for a domain that fails our safety checks or that we cannot probe without causing harm.

Cancel anytime from the billing link in every report or by replying to one. Cancellation stops future charges at the end of the current billing month; partial months are not refunded. We store the domain, the billing email Stripe gives us, and the scan snapshots needed to compare runs; we do not store card data, and paid-run snapshots are not contributed to the benchmark dataset described in the Data Contribution Terms.

Paid audits are governed separately

The Verified AI Search Audit is a paid engagement, and any audit we perform is governed by its own written engagement agreement between you and Alex Bouchard — not by these Terms of Use. If anything here conflicts with a signed engagement agreement, the engagement agreement controls for that engagement.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from your use of this site is subject to the jurisdiction of United States courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
