Data Contribution Terms

Free hosted monitoring is a contributory data service. You keep the operational event stream in your PostHog project; ReadableByAI keeps a smaller domain-level record to build and commercialize crawler intelligence. Effective 9 August 2026.

The commercial exchange

In exchange for free filtering, IP-range verification, and delivery to your PostHog project, you authorize ReadableByAI to retain and use the contributed fields below. You represent that you control or are authorized to monitor the submitted domain, Vercel project, and PostHog destination.

What enters the benchmark dataset

  • Domain name
  • Crawler vendor and normalized bot token
  • Vendor-network verdict: verified, impostor, or unknown
  • Route category such as root, pricing, docs, content, product, support, API, auth, legal, or other
  • Status class such as 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, or 5xx
  • Latency band when the source log contains a usable duration
  • Timestamp rounded to the hour
  • Accepted terms version and a deduplication identifier

What does not enter the benchmark dataset

ReadableByAI does not retain client IP addresses, exact paths, query strings, cookies, referrers, request or response headers, raw user-agent strings, request bodies, email addresses, visitor identifiers, or the PostHog project token in the benchmark event. The processing function reads some source fields transiently to authenticate, filter, classify, and deliver the event.

How ReadableByAI may use and monetize it

You grant ReadableByAI a worldwide, non-exclusive right to store, combine, analyze, model, reproduce, and create derivative works from the contributed fields for operating, improving, securing, and commercializing its products. Commercial outputs may include domain-level intelligence, industry benchmarks, datasets, reports, APIs, alerts, research, and machine-learning models. ReadableByAI may sell or license those outputs.

This license does not authorize ReadableByAI to sell the original Vercel log batch, customer PostHog credential, or excluded visitor-level fields. “Minimized” does not mean the contributed record is anonymous: it deliberately includes the monitored domain.

Retention, stopping, and deletion requests

ReadableByAI may retain contributed records and derived outputs for as long as they are useful to the benchmark product. Removing the Vercel drain stops future contributions. To request removal of domain-level contributed records, email alex+privacy@midnightdev.dev with the domain and reasonable proof that you control it. We may retain statistics, trained model parameters, and aggregate outputs that can no longer reasonably be separated back into your contributed records.

Versioning

The accepted terms version is encrypted into each drain endpoint. A materially expanded contribution requires a new setup flow and affirmative acceptance; ReadableByAI will not silently add new retained fields to an existing version.

These plain-English terms have not been reviewed by counsel. Obtain legal review before relying on them for production use across jurisdictions.
